    Title: People Analytics - Taking Data-Driven Action

    In today’s organizations, talent is the most significant investment, yet most people-related decisions are made in the absence of hard data. In this interactive course, you will learn how to use a people-analytics plan to propel the analytics program in your organization. You will explore the analytics maturity model and discover the importance of leveraging strategic partnerships to build your organization's analytics potential. Also, you will become equipped to take a greater leadership role as you begin using analytics to influence your organization's goals and provide decision-makers with greater insight into workforce-related issues.

    By attending, you will have the opportunity to earn the SHRM People Analytics Specialty Credential.  Normally, this credential is valued at $1,655, but we are giving you the opportunity to obtain this Specialty Credential at the low cost of $275 for members or $300 for non-members!

    Title: Building a Productive Relationship with Your Boss:  Leveraging the Relationship Management Competency

    We have all heard of the concept of ‘managing your boss’.   It sounds pretty sinister, but in essence, it involves utilizing your relationship management skills for accelerated productivity.  It is a skill that often does not get the attention it deserves and can sometimes be overlooked.  Our HR competency model includes the behavioral competency of Relationship Management.  This competency focuses our ability to manage interactions while providing services in support of organizational goals.   Many times leadership presentations focus on how to manage others, meaning how to manage and lead those that you directly supervise.  However, it is just as important to build productive relationships with your boss or ‘manage up’.  How to manage the relationship with your boss is a skill that requires the use of several practical tactics that will result in more success.  Join Dr. Milton J. Perkins, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, CPC, for this edutaining discussion about how to build your Relationship Management competency and utilize several next-practice tips to successfully build a productive relationship.

    Milton J. Perkins, PHD, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, CPC is the Senior Vice President of ActOne Government Solutions, Inc., (A1GS, a subsidiary of The ActOne Group), responsible for pursuing, managing, and delivering talent, consulting, and commodity solutions primarily (but not limited) to federal, state, county, municipal and quasi-government clients. He has operated as the Chief HR Officer for Mint Dentistry, the VP, HR for Kasasa (currently their contracted Chief Diversity Officer), as well as the Chief Accountability and Human Resources Officer for Vanguard Integrity Professionals. He has also worked as the Head of Global Talent Management for Hewitt Associates, the Senior Director of Workforce Solutions for Agile•1 (a subsidiary of the ActOne Group), Managing Director – Kaufman, VonStuben & Associates, and RAS Leader for EDS, to name a few. Within all these roles, Dr. Perkins has converted the noted organizations to a human capital analytics focused (versus metrics) organizations, with quantified human capital outcomes that can be used to make organizational decisions. He is a Senior Faculty member for the Society for HR Management

    (SHRM) and is the Diversity/Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) subject matter expert for SHRM University and to SHRM’s DE&I body of content and knowledge development team.

    With over 42 years of human capital experience, Dr. Perkins has a tremendous wealth of practical, research, teaching and consulting experience developing innovative business solutions through people. In addition to facilitating training sessions on various topics, he is a public speaker who actively speaks at business and human capital conferences, worldwide, specializing in providing next-practice solutions related to DE&I, Inclusive Workplace Cultures (IWC), HR Metrics and Analytics, SHRM-SCP/CP certification preparation, Unconscious/Conscious Biases, Workforce Planning, Conducting Internal Investigations, HR Business Partner Models, and HR Strategy Development. Of special note is the critically acclaimed work he has done on being intentionally inclusive through his trademarked, DARNSCARS for DiversityTM framework. He has also been fortunate to provide content input to SHRM for the IWC curricula content and credentialing requirements. He has consulted to organizations such as Kasasa, Ltd, the Center for Disease Control, Creative Marketing Resources, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and the World Bank, to name a few, on various topics to include concepts related the maturity curve for human capital analytics - descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive measurements.

    Milton earned his PhD, Management, with published research on Environmental Variables Impacting Virtual Employee Engagement. He has a MS, Human Resources, as well as a BS, Management, Computer Information Systems. He was one of the first people, worldwide, to earn the SHRM’s People Analytics Specialty, Inclusive Workplace Culture, and Workplace Investigations Credentials, and is SHRM-SCP, SPHR, and CPC certified. He completed human resource leadership studies at the Disney Institute, the Society for Human Resource Management, the Executive Leadership Development Program at Babson College, the PDI Assessment Center, and he earned an Advanced Employment Law Certification from the Institute for Applied Management and Law.
