    A.   Review of Court Labor Cases and their Disposition

    • recent court cases and their disposition related to discrimination charges.  The goal is for the audience to foresee what action is needed in order to minimize labor disputes.
    • provide guidance regarding the handling of court and arrest records including background checks. 

    B.   Handling the Discrimination Charge Process

    By Scholastica (Sally) Rivera, Administrator, Guam Department of Labor

    • discuss the process by the Guam Department of Labor (GDOL) and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) when a discrimination charge is received. The steps include a review of the charge, employer visits, witnesses’ interviews, and the ruling on the labor charge. The goal of this presentation is to alert the audience regarding what to expect from the GDOL/EEOC when a charge is filed against an employer.
